What Is Citrix Traditional Licensing?
Citrix traditional licensing is a term subscription you buy from Citrix through an authorized partner, such as Citrix Universal Hybrid Multi-Cloud (UHMC) or the Citrix Platform License. Citrix has consolidated hundreds of standalone SKUs into these platform subscriptions, so one license now covers Citrix DaaS plus networking, the hypervisor, endpoint OS, monitoring and Zero Trust access.
Most organizations only use part of what they pay for. Altanora is a Platinum Citrix Fusion Resell partner, and we manage your renewals, keep your licensing right-sized, and activate the entitlements you already own.

New: Citrix Platform Flex
Launched in May 2026, Citrix Platform Flex is a credit-based way to license the Citrix platform on Citrix-managed cloud infrastructure, sized to how each group of users actually works. It's not the same as Altanora FlexDaaS, our pay-as-you-go plan.

What is included in Citrix Universal Hybrid Multi-Cloud (UHMC)?
UHMC is a single Citrix platform subscription. It includes Citrix DaaS with cloud and on-premises rights, NetScaler (up to 999 VPX instances with Premium features), XenServer (up to 10,000 sockets), Citrix SecurAccess ZTNA, Citrix Experience Insights, Citrix Device Posture and Citrix UniconOS. The Citrix Platform License also includes Citrix SecurAccess with Chrome Enterprise.
What is Citrix Platform Flex?
Citrix Platform Flex is a credit-based licensing model, launched in May 2026, for Citrix services on Citrix-managed cloud infrastructure built on Microsoft Azure. You buy a pool of Flex credits and allocate them by user persona across services such as Citrix DaaS Flex, Experience Insights, SecurSpaces and SecurAccess with Chrome Enterprise.
Is Citrix Platform Flex the same as Altanora FlexDaaS?
No. Citrix Platform Flex is a Citrix licensing model based on prepaid Flex credits. Altanora FlexDaaS is Altanora's month-to-month, pay-as-you-go Citrix licensing plan with no long-term commitment.
How do Flex credits work?
You buy a pool of Flex credits for the subscription term, typically 3 to 5 years. Credits are consumed monthly based on the personas and services you use, and they can be reallocated across Platform Flex services during the term. If you use them faster than planned, you can add credits for the rest of the term.
Can we move from traditional licensing to Citrix Platform Flex?
Yes. The move usually happens at renewal, and mid-term options may be available depending on your current contract. Your whole Citrix portfolio converts to Platform Flex, so Altanora models the full picture before you decide.
Does Citrix Platform Flex include Windows licensing?
It depends on the persona. For Windows Server multi-session, Citrix provides the required Remote Desktop Services and server OS licensing. Windows 11 single-session desktops need a customer-provided Windows license.
Can we pay for Citrix through our Azure commitment?
Citrix Platform Flex can be bought through the Microsoft Marketplace, which lets you draw down your Azure consumption commitment (MACC).
How do we renew Citrix licensing?
Citrix subscriptions are renewed through an authorized Citrix partner. Altanora manages renewal timing, co-terming and true-ups, and reviews your entitlements before the renewal date so you only pay for what you need and use everything you own.
What tools can UHMC replace?
Organizations commonly retire point VPN tools, standalone load balancers and WAF subscriptions, separate hypervisor licences, third-party thin-client operating systems and separate user experience monitoring tools, because NetScaler, XenServer, UniconOS and Experience Insights are included in UHMC.
